Benjamin Filipopoulos is currently a General Surgery Registrar at Austin Health.
Benjamin undertook medical studies at Deakin University, after having first graduated from a Bachelor of Science at the University of Queensland. He has predominantly worked across the Austin and Northern Health campuses, as well as a few other peripheral centres and has completed a clinical placement at the Hippocrateion General Hospital of Athens in 2015. With family descent from two parts of the Peloponnese, Benjamin maintains both close personal and professional ties in Greece. He is particularly keen to maintain Hellenic language and culture in Australia, and foster ongoing professional ties between the two nations. He is passionate about building stronger relationships within the Hellenic and wider communities, advocating for health and nurturing the professional development of fellow junior colleagues.
