Greek Scientists ID two molecules that offers hope for patients with chronic inflammatory diseases

Greek and Cypriot scientists have identified two small molecules that could be pursued as potential treatments for chronic inflammatory diseases. Both molecules, known as T23 and T8, inhibit the function of a protein called tumor necrosis factor (TNF), which is involved in inflammation in diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, Crohn's disease, psoriasis, multiple sclerosis, and more. Drugs that inhibit TNF's function are considered the most effective way to combat such diseases.

Greek Research Team’s Findings Spark New Hope for Parkinson’s Cure

A team of Greek medical researchers has discovered a substance that successfully treated laboratory mice suffering from the equivalent of human Parkinson’s Disease, creating new hope of an eventual cure for humans. Their findings were published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS) review in the United States recently.
