Associate Prof. Marinis Pirpiris

Associate Professor Marinis Pirpiris is an orthopaedic surgeon with extensive experience in trauma, elective hip and knee replacement surgery, and complex reconstructive care.
He is Chair of the Victorian Perioperative Consultative Council, providing statewide leadership in surgical safety, quality improvement, and health-system governance.

He has held senior leadership roles within the Australian Orthopaedic Association including Chair of the Victorian Branch, State Chair Director of the Federal Board and Chair of the Inclusion Committee and Mentorship Subcommittee. He has also held senior governance position at the AO Foundation including Chair of AO Trauma Australia, Director of Community Development of the AO Asia Pacific Regional Board, International Program Editor of Curriculum and Task Force Lead of the Mentorship Program. He has also held senior roles at the Asia Pacific Orthopaedic Association as President of the Asia Pacific Trauma Society and 2025 Congress President contributing to education, research, and international collaboration.

Marinis is President of the Hellenic Medical Society of Australia and is actively engaged in the Greek community including service to Alphington Grammar School as Board Director and Chair, and the Greek Community of Melbourne as Board Director, Treasurer and Secretary.

He is recognised for collaborative, values-driven leadership that bridges clinical excellence, community service, and sustainable health-system reform.
